National Pollutant Report Inventory (NPRI) Reporting

The National Pollutant Release Inventory (NPRI) is " Canada's legislated, publicly accessible inventory of pollutant releases (to air, water and land), disposals and transfers for recycling".  If you are an owner or operator of a facility that is required to report to the National Pollutant Release Inventory for pollutant releases or if you are not sure, OSB Consulting can assist you.

Under the authority of the Canadian Environmental Protection Act (CEPA), owners or operators of facilities that meet published reporting requirements are required to report to the NPRI. Companies that meet reporting requirements but which fail to report, do not report on time, or knowingly submit false or misleading information, can face penalties.

Column

  • Deadline for reporting for the previous calendar year is June 1.

Column

  • OSB Consulting will determine the total amount of each NPRI substance at your facility for the previous calendar year and determine if the substance usage and releases meet or exceed the reporting thresholds and need to be reported to the NPRI. If substance usage and releases meet or exceed the reporting thresholds, OSB Consulting will report to the NPRI via the Single Window Information Manager (SWIM) portal.
